I'm gonna toot my own horn

I don't ever toot my own horn, but I just have to today! I just received the NICEST card in the mail today from a new client I got to do pictures for this past week. I just have to share it with you all! I hope that what she says is true for all of my clients. I truly try to make my home welcoming and I hope that when I do your pictures, you feel the same way she does! Here it is:

So it's been awhile!

I know, I know....I haven't posted pics in awhile! It's been crazy around our house (like it always is)! I PROMISE I will get some new pics posted in the next day or two so you all can see what I've been up to!

We started practice for Fall Ball. YEAH, baseball is back! Our team has some new faces and it's really fun to see the kids interact. Bobby started his new shift at SCPD (dogwatch) and it's going wonderful! He really likes it and it's nice to know in the back of my mind that his patrol is so close to our home.

I am getting ready for my fall & Christmas rush! I love this time of year because the temperatures are cooling down and it's fun to get outside to do sessions!

I will post more on this in the next couple weeks....but for those of you who are thinking Christmas pictures, cards, etc.....start looking at your calendar and give me a call! I already have people booking and the days will fill up fast! If you are wanting the Fall leaves....historically, mid-late October/early November has been the prettiest.

What a beautiful family at this fabulous location! They are such great people and their little boy is always full of smiles! We also did a studio session about a week before their outdoor session.....so here is a sneak peek of both!!!

I am ADORABLE!

Baby Tre is the sweetest thing.....he was such a good sport even though our session was late in the evening! He wanted to play with all of Miss Brandi's cool studio props....so once we finally got him cornered onto the studio, I had to be FAST before he crawled off to explore around again! I love Tre's family to pieces!

Family updates

We had a great week....it was pretty uneventful for the most part. The hot temperatures have kept our activities pretty low-key. I took Ty to the pool the other day and we had a lot of fun. We also found out that Bobby's transfer to SCPD was accepted and he will be working dog-watch starting this week! We are really excited about it....it will give Bobby the opportunity to help coach Ty's baseball team and be at most of the practices and games. I'm sure it will be an adjustment for all of us getting used to his new sleep schedule. We will manage....we always do!

Wonderful Children!!!

Yes, these are triplets....they just turned 2! They were the cutest, sweetest, and most well-behaved children to photograph! I didn't have to pull out my bag of tricks to get them to smile....they simply followed directions from mommy, daddy and I ....and they did everything we wanted them to! It was so much fun to work with them - and I got BIG hugs from the kiddos when we were all done.....it was a great feeling to know that they thought Miss Brandi was pretty cool!

Weekly update

Once again, not a lot of exciting stuff in our household. Last week I went out with the girls to the Royals Girls Night Out. It was a blast! There were 22 of us and we managed to make it through the 150 degree temperature (ha ha)! Really, it was great to see some of my friends I haven't seen in awhile and also I got to meet some new friends! It was awesome! Although next year we are going to make some signs so we can get on the big screen!

My cousins from El Paso, TX are in town - We went shopping yesterday and it was so great to spend some time with them.

This week I have a lot of editing to do - and Bobby has off duty the next few days. He is officially on his days off....but once again - finds other jobs to work so we can be Gazelle Intense (you Dave Ramsey people know what I'm talking about)!!!!!!

We got our house painted this past week as well. We are ALMOST done with the repairs needed from the tornado that hit us back in May. We have one more broken window to replace (it's a special order - that's why it's taking so long).

Ty has been great lately (I shouldn't say that too loudly)! We are trying to find him new shoes for Fall Ball since he quickly outgrew his last ones. We have been to the pool a few times and he plays with his toys while I work on pictures. I am so lucky he is so good while I work - otherwise I would be in big trouble!! I took him to the doctor last week for his 3 year check-up. He is in the 95th % for height and weight. No surprise there! Doc said he looked great and we don't have any more shots til next year.

Isn't this the cutest little girl ever??!! She had sooooo much personality...I just love her! I think mommy & grandma were worn out by the end of the session - she was definitely a girl on the move!!! Her pictures couldn't have turned out any more perfect!

Our original plan was to do an outdoor session - but it rained! So we moved indoors and got some awesome stuff! The kids were a riot and mom & dad are so down to earth! It was awesome getting to work with them!

Gotta love Dave Ramsey!

Just wanted to be a dork for a second and tell everyone that if you haven't heard of Dave Ramsey.....you should get to know him! He is a financial expert and has a radio program which airs M-Friday 11:00am til 2:00pm on 710am radio (here in Kansas City). He also has a WONDERFUL book call the Total Money Makeover. Bobby and I have followed his program and we have paid off 2 debts and plan to have our car paid off hopefully by the end of this year (with only ONE other debt remaining to pay off - YEAH!!!). We should be debt free (except for the house) by next summer/fall! What a great feeling!!!! It REALLY works! He also has a website www.daveramsey.com if you want to read more about him. For my police friends....the department is getting ready to do another Financial Peace University. I HIGHLY recommend it! Please check your Daily Informant for details! I promise it will change your life!

Ok....so not a whole lot going on with us. We got our deck fixed yesterday (from the tornado damage) and it looks great! We now have to get our house painted and a broken window fixed. Bobby has been working a TON of off-duty lately. Thank goodness that it's the All Star break this week so he isn't working Royals games at all. He did/does have a couple other gigs....but that's about it.

I am working away on pictures. I've had some great sessions lately and I'm loving it! I will be doing the Liberty Fall Festival again this year (at the end of September). So I will be reminding everyone several times about it so you can all come and visit me!!!!

Ty is doing great! Although, I must admit that turning 3 has had it's "trying" moments. Age 2 was waaaaay easier than 3! We've had a lot of "time outs" lately....but hopefully it will teach him the right way to act (especially since Pre-School is just around the corner).

Ty will be playing Fall Ball with his team, the Dodgers. Bobby was asked to help coach his team next year and he is excited about it- and I was also asked to be Team Mom! I'm not sure what that means....but hopefully I will do a good job at whatever I need to do! We just had our end of season t-ball banquet last weekend, complete with a HUGE moon walk and catered BBQ! It was amazing!!!! Our sponsors are fabulous and really love the kids so much. Ty was so excited to get his very FIRST trophy!

Happy Birthday!

Another fun birthday session! Miss Avery is so beautiful! I think she definitly has a sweet tooth!!! Mommy and Grandma were such a blast too! Loved meeting you girls!

this & that....

I haven't updated in awhile....so I thought I would let everyone know that Ty is feeling much better. I guess he really did have some strange summer virus! After 2 straight days of Motrin - he finally broke his fever last Monday afternoon. I got back in my work mode last week and will have some new pics to post soon of some recent sessions (so stay tuned)!

I am so excited about the upcoming 4th of July! It's my favorite holiday next to Christmas! I'm not sure what we are doing yet - but hopefully it will be fun (Bobby has the 4th off, for the first time in forever)!

Bobby and I are working on some new studio set-ups in my basement! It is so cool! We got some wood flooring put in one corner of the basement (it's beautiful). I will also have a dedicated Hi-Key backdrop (that means white backdrop/flooring), and then another section that will have cool brick flooring with a textured wall. I am hoping it will be done fairly soon (especially since I have sessions next week)! The only thing that may not be done for a few more weeks is my brick flooring/textured wall corner- I am seeking help from my friend Bridget on my wall (she is an expert painter) and I am still trying to find the brick floor design that I like the best!! ;)

Other than that, nothing new going on in my world! Hope everyone else is doing great!

Feeling Yuckie!

Just a quick blog today....we spent most of last evening at Children's Mercy. Ty had a 103 degree temperature and was miserable (he had a temp last weekend too). As some of you know he has bladder/UTI problems (ever since birth)....so every time we have a high fever with no other symptoms, we are afraid it's the UTI problem. They did test him and his urine was fine....all they said is that he has a virus and all we can do is give him Motrin. He isn't any better today either. I'm hoping tomorrow we will be on the downhill side of the virus (keep your fingers crossed). So if you have emailed me/called me/etc - sorry I haven't responded....it's just been a long weekend. Once Bobby is home late tonight I should have a chance to get caught up on business!

We just had our last game today! It was so amazing to see the progress these kids have made from day one until now. I know Ty has had a blast with his teammates!
