I haven't updated in awhile....so I thought I would let everyone know that Ty is feeling much better. I guess he really did have some strange summer virus! After 2 straight days of Motrin - he finally broke his fever last Monday afternoon. I got back in my work mode last week and will have some new pics to post soon of some recent sessions (so stay tuned)!
I am so excited about the upcoming 4th of July! It's my favorite holiday next to Christmas! I'm not sure what we are doing yet - but hopefully it will be fun (Bobby has the 4th off, for the first time in forever)!
Bobby and I are working on some new studio set-ups in my basement! It is so cool! We got some wood flooring put in one corner of the basement (it's beautiful). I will also have a dedicated Hi-Key backdrop (that means white backdrop/flooring), and then another section that will have cool brick flooring with a textured wall. I am hoping it will be done fairly soon (especially since I have sessions next week)! The only thing that may not be done for a few more weeks is my brick flooring/textured wall corner- I am seeking help from my friend Bridget on my wall (she is an expert painter) and I am still trying to find the brick floor design that I like the best!! ;)
Other than that, nothing new going on in my world! Hope everyone else is doing great!

Feeling Yuckie!
Just a quick blog today....we spent most of last evening at Children's Mercy. Ty had a 103 degree temperature and was miserable (he had a temp last weekend too). As some of you know he has bladder/UTI problems (ever since birth)....so every time we have a high fever with no other symptoms, we are afraid it's the UTI problem. They did test him and his urine was fine....all they said is that he has a virus and all we can do is give him Motrin. He isn't any better today either. I'm hoping tomorrow we will be on the downhill side of the virus (keep your fingers crossed). So if you have emailed me/called me/etc - sorry I haven't responded....it's just been a long weekend. Once Bobby is home late tonight I should have a chance to get caught up on business!

Our last game!
We just had our last game today! It was so amazing to see the progress these kids have made from day one until now. I know Ty has had a blast with his teammates! Here are just a few pictures from the game (I know some of you parents are excited to see what I took today)!!!! I can't wait for the next round of ball! Don't you love the song I have playing to go along with this post???!!

Hicktown
Ok...one more quick thing. I just added a song to my PlayList by Jason Aldean called "Hicktown." I swear this song is about the town I grew up in!!!! I can never get sick of listening to this song. Bobby told me Jason Aldean is coming to the Missouri State Fair this year.....just might have to go see him!!! Click on the song in my playlist to hear it!
here is my daddy kneeling down to help me!
So my blog is going to include some personal stuff too! I decided to brag on my son Ty. The picture in his practice clothes is the very first T-Ball practice we ever had. Then the other picture is of him in his uniform the day of his first game. He LOVES T-Ball!!! All he talks about is his Coach Metha and all the kids on the team. But the funny part is that when he goes up to bat.....we have to yell "HIT IT LIKE A-ROD" (Alex Rodriguez for those of you who might not know). Then he will hit the ball really hard! This kid may not know his entire alphabet....but he can recite to you some of the better MLB players! If you ever hear him do this....it's hilarious! Our friends Steve & Beckie are convinced that when Ty was in my belly....Bobby (my husband) would lay his head on my stomach and talk baseball to him (just to get an early start)!!! Not sure if Coach Metha will see this.....but he has really made an impact on Ty! Can't wait to see what his future holds in baseball.....someday you may be paying to watch him play! (I'm not a proud or hopeful mamma or anything, am I)!!! Someday you may see me on Dr. Phil about this obsession with baseball!!! ;)

This is a must read...
I received a phonecall a couple weeks ago from a girl named Jamie. She heard about me through someone at her work who I do pictures for. She explained that she just had a baby (the baby was only 5 days old) and that her husband was coming home on a 4 day pass from the Army to see his new little girl for the first time that upcoming weekend. Jamie wondered if I possibly had any time to fit them in for a family picture while he was home for his short visit. Without hesitation, I absolutely said yes and looked forward to them coming over.
I got to meet this amazing family.... Dustin (the daddy), Jamie (the mommy) and Emmalie (the newborn little girl) on Sunday June 1st. I must admit that whenever I do military pictures....I always feel a little flutter in my stomach - because I am photographing a SOLDIER. The word Soldier, to me, means a hero - someone willing to give all he/she has for the greater good of others. So on this day, I got to photograph a hero and his beautiful family.

Dustin is a Combat Engineer for the Army. His job is route clearance - he looks for road side bombs and disables them. He is leaving for Baghdad, Iraq sometime very soon and will be gone for about a year.
Dustin, Jamie, and Emmalie.....I was seriously, seriously so moved by you. I was so honored that you chose me to photograph your family. Thank you to Jamie - for being a wonderful mommy and a school teacher.....two professions that don't get enough recognition. And also, as Dustin said....you are an amazing woman for having a husband in the military. Thank you Dustin - for being a Soldier for me & my family and the rest of the world.....you and your fellow military people really are true heros. And thank you baby Emmalie - for coming into this world and blessing us with your sweet love & innocence........and thank you for sharing your mommy & daddy with the rest of us, because what they do for a living is so important.
God bless our Soldiers. Please keep this family in your prayers as Dustin departs for Iraq very soon. And thank you again Dustin, Jamie, and Emmalie for having me do your pictures. Can't wait to see you all again!
